Get ready for the holidays! Learn how to make two terrific cocktails using Old Forester 1897 and an amazing dish with renowned chef Charlie Loomis.

Tune in with us virtually, and cook along with Chef Loomis as he walks you through how to make the most perfect shrimp and smoked cheddar polenta. You can make it for dinner that night, or follow along and add the recipe to your repertoire for the upcoming holidays.

During the interactive broadcast with Chef Charlie, the Whiskey Library will also walk you through how to make two terrific cocktails. We'll use Old Forester's 1897 Bourbon as we teach you how to make the Fall Passion, a Tiki-inspired cocktail with seasonal spice, and a Spruce Old Fashioned, our winter twist on the Old Fashioned.

Several ticket options are available:

  • Cocktail ingredients for four, bar kit, + online broadcast ($100): Everything you need for a great night in, for up to four people! This option includes credentials to the Zoom event, cocktail ingredients (a full-size bottle of Old Forester 1897, and the bitters and syrup called for in the recipes -- enough for to make both cocktails for 4+ people), and a bar kit with everything you need to mix along at home (jigger, bar spoon, mixing glass, and strainer). Also included are a grocery list and recipe cards to follow along with Chef Loomis during the broadcast. Details on pickup for the physical kit are below.

  • Cocktail ingredients for four + online broadcast ($75): This option is perfect for those who already mix cocktails at home. It includes credentials to the Zoom event and cocktail ingredients (a full-size bottle of Old Forester 1897, and the bitters and syrup called for in the recipes -- enough for to make both cocktails for 4+ people). Also included are a grocery list and recipe cards to follow along with Chef Loomis during the broadcast. Details on pickup for the physical kit are below.

  • Online broadcast only ($40): Access to the online broadcast and digital copies of the recipes only, perfect for those who aren't in the Washington DC metro area or otherwise don't want the physical cocktail kit.

    Pick-up for physical cocktail kits will be at Wardman Wines in Washington, DC's Brookland neighborhood (625 Monroe St NE, Washington, DC) during regular store hours (12:00 noon - 8:00 PM), Wednesday November 18th through Friday November 20th. Detailed pickup instructions will be provided for those with physical cocktail kits in your ticket confirmation email.

Pick-up for tickets including physical whiskey and/or cocktail kits will be at Wardman Wines in Washington, DC's Brookland neighborhood (625 Monroe St NE, Washington, DC) during regular store hours (12:00 noon - 8:00 PM), Tuesday November 10th through Friday November 13th. Detailed pickup instructions will be provided via email after ticket purchase to these ticket holders.


ABOUT CHEF CHARLIE LOOMIS

Charlie Loomis is the Executive Chef of The Feed Table and Tavern in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He rose to fame after appearing on the Food Network show "Cooks Vs. Cons" in 2016, and “Beat Bobby Flay” in January 2020. After conquering the mystery ingredient, radishes, in his battle against Albuquerque’s Chef Israel Rivera, Chef Charlie advanced to the final round against the master chef.


A portion of the ticket sales for this event will be donated to Friends & Family Meal in DC, who are providing nutritious food to hospitality workers worried about food scarcity, while also keeping money flowing to struggling local farmers. They accomplish this through partnerships with friends in the beverage industry and personal donations. Every Wednesday-Friday, they deliver these groceries with distribution partners and volunteers throughout Washington, DC to those who have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
